How to upload a blueprint on Beltworks

Create an account, publish native Factorio blueprints with strong titles and tags, and keep your listings maintainable on Beltworks.

Updated 2026-08-17

Anyone can browse and copy from Beltworks. Publishing your own designs requires a free account and turns you into a native author—listings that originate here, not only mirrored from the historical FactorioPrints catalog.

Create an account

Register with email and password, or sign in with Google/GitHub when those providers are enabled. Pick a display name and slug you are willing to show publicly; they appear on your uploads and profile.

Publish step by step

1. Sign in and open Upload / Create.

2. Paste a blueprint or book string exported from Factorio.

3. Write a clear title—what it is, not only a joke or icon spam.

4. Add a description: throughput goals, tile size, belt tier, game version, required mods, and known limitations.

5. Add tags so search and filters can classify the build.

6. Save. Reopen the print page to confirm the preview, entities, and recipes look right.

What “good” looks like

Titles

Prefer “Tileable red-belt smelting 180/min (2.0)” over “my base lol”. Icons in Factorio labels are fine; on the web, readable words still matter for search.

Descriptions

State prerequisites up front. Call out botless vs bot-based, beaconed vs unbeaconed, and Space Age planet assumptions. If the build needs landfill, cliffs removal, or a specific research, say so.

Tags

Tag the job (belt, train, power, circuit) and version when relevant. Over-tagging every category helps no one—pick the facets a downloader would filter on.

Editing and ownership

Native uploads can be edited or removed by the owning account from the print page. Treat updates like releases: note what changed in the changelog mindset even if the field is short (“fixed underground belt direction”).

Imported vs native

Part of the archive was imported from the public FactorioPrints / Factorio School catalog so older community designs stay searchable, with links back to sources. Native Beltworks uploads are marked as coming from this site. Uploading originals here is how the catalog becomes more than a mirror.

Before you paste a string from elsewhere

Only upload content you have rights to share. Credit original authors in the description when you are republishing with permission or under clear licenses. Do not scrape private saves or paywalled packs.

After publish

Favorite your own print to pin it, share the URL in Factorio communities, and watch comments/feedback if you iterate. Pair uploads with Guides links when the build teaches a concept (balancers, solar tiles, smelting columns).
