In this picture we see: 4 10x10 balancers 2 20x20 balancers 1 40x40 balancer
These balancers are set up as a x patteren meaning one half of the input has to be prebalanced if you want full throughput. So thats why i made it from 10 all the way to 40.
It all started when i was making my 2.4k megabase and i used a mainbus system that used 8 belts per material and i wanted every thing to be flowing well. Because i needed 16 belts of steel i made 2 steel furnace setups that directly used 40 belts of iron ore to smelt to 8 belts of steel. No one made a 40x40 balancer neither a 20x20 or a 10x10 so i made my own. I also made them as ups friendly as i could so no worry about that.
Note. This setup need some sort of 5x5 balancer in front of the 10x10 balancer to get a perfect throughput. But it will work fine using something like a 8x8 balancer. Hilariously Because of clearance issues i quit making a compact 5x5 balancer but maybe time will tell if any one want to have that
