I just found out https://autotorio.com/outpost is a thing! It allows you to create custom sized outposts for mining, just by creating a blueprint with a stone wall in 2 opposite corners of the orevein. I modified the first blueprint to encoorporate the generated version, and basically just added some roboports so it can all be created by bots.
