- Outer: Storage chests as overflow for buffer chests and for any other items
FAQ
- Does this blueprint produce any items in the pictures?
- No. Its purpose is to gather all loose items, from production areas and random chests, into a single spot for easy consumption.
- Why are all buffer chests set to request 20k of the item?
- This is to ensure the central area of the shop aggregates items from storage and active/passive provider chests.
- Why not use filtered storage chests for the central area?
- This is an option if your base's production area only uses active provider chests or you have no other storage areas or random chests around your base.
- Otherwise the central area wouldn't be replenished with items from other storage chests from around your base and passive provider chests from your production areas.
- How can I prevent these 20k requests from using up all my resources to make items in excessive quantities which aren't needed ( ie nuclear reactors)?
- I recommend setting an enable condition on inserters when moving an item from the assembler the logistics chests.
- This allows you to see total count of items in your whole network and prevent more from being made.
- Use SK's Belt-Based Mall which has assemblers setup this way
- Alternatives
- Change the request amounts for items in buffer chests
- Use the red X in the chest UI to limit number of stacks
