The Reactor
The Reactor
this is a simple, yet effektive 2xN reactor. there is no need to manually feed anything. just print, connect belts (for fuel cells) and thats it.
its fully covered by roboport construction zones, so it can be built automatically. the reactors will be activated by the amounts of steam stored in the buffers. as steam will be shiftet upwards the last reactors will go to idle. there is no clock/timer for fuel control. it should be wasteless.
as most 2xN reactors it consists of two parts:
the start (2 reactors) which will run unconditionally and
the tile (4 reactors) which will be fed depending on their steam buffer
the reactor has two electric networks: the primary for internal use (pumps, inserters, combinators,...) and the secondary for external use (aka the rest of the base). this makes shure the reactor control wont be affected by brownouts/blackouts. you can connect both electric networks but i would recommend using the primary/secondary setup.
<details>
the big electric poles are the 'ring' at the bottom of this example setup.
theoretically it is possible to feed up to 18k reactors with this setup. the blueprints include landfill! this version (V3.0) is incompatible with V2.0 and V.1.0 (due to different spacings [heat exchangers and offshore pumps]). i've stress-tested it to 12.5GW (i know, its not that much) but it works like a charm. for further information have a look at my forum post regarding my blueprints and other neat things.

The Reactor start V3.1:
the solar panels are only there to power the inserters for the first fuel cells. you can do that manually and delete the solar panels. i recommend to let it heat up before you add more reactor tiles.
please use the big electric poles to connect your base.

The Reactor tile V3.1:
the lamps next to the the reactors will be green when the reactor is up and running.
the lamps between the heat exchangers and reactors will show the buffered steam:
red 1: <200k steam in buffer (almost below working limit)
red 2: 200k-400k steam in buffer (may occur under heavy load)
yellow: 400-500k pumps active (reactors will go in idle mode)
green: >500k steam in buffer, pumps active (reactors idle)
