Description
Minimal core miner outposts - intended to be built on landfill in lakes or on safe planets. Supplied by railguns.
The goal is to have extremely simple, self-contained planetary outposts that simply ship core fragments back to the hub (probably nauvis). This version uses spaceships but the spaceship area can have rocket landing and launch pads until you reach spaceship tech.
Each outpost makes its own power, meteor defense ammo, nuclear fuel, repair packs (does not request supplies for these by default though), and water (if using condenser power because no water on planet). Both powerplant blueprints try to conserve fuel by only adding new fuel if 1. there is no current fuel and 2. the steam is getting low. There are some alarms to let you know if the outpost is running out of fuel or power (ie, something is wrong with supply).
Quick Instructions:
- place the railgun supply area somewhere you already have everything you need (iron plates, u235, u238, steel, coal, ice, and railgun canisters)
- take all your supplies + extra solar + landfill + 50 logistics bots + some construction bots to new planet
- landfill the area you need - stay away from biters (find a lake - sometimes you can find oil in a lake; build there and make fuel)
- place power where it will go (below the core mining area is best) and add pumps (unless using condenser nuke plant)
- start reactors by placing one fuel in each
- place the core area and delete core miners and meteor defense until power is up (they take >100MW otherwise)
- update signal network name (on both sides), aim supply railguns, turn supply railguns on
- optionally add temporary solar panels to get power for supplies faster
- when power is fully up (160MW for regular reactor, 110MW for condenser reactor) put core miners and meteor defense back
- put a hauler spaceship on the route and set up the clamps correctly
Each blueprint has a version with 'notes' that are written using the metal plates mod and a regular version.
All logic is based around the idea that the outpost puts everything in its storage on the green network and then what it requests on the red network + "R" if the railgun landing place is empty. This lets us decide what to do back at the hub and prevents us from shooting supplies into a full container.
TIPS:
- put down power first and get it running - alternatively delete the core miners and meteor defense at first. This will make the supplies signal available sooner.
- bring 50 logistics bots and some construction bots (networks with <=50 logistics bots dont lose bots)
- you MUST manually start the nuclear reactors by adding one fuel to each one
Will likely replace this blueprint with a more thorough set of space exploration prints.
