Description
This is a book of blueprints for display things. It has blueprints for displaying all your items in logistics (or on a circuit network), for displaying your power levels (accumulator levels), displaying the amount of oil products you have, and it also includes some blueprints for making "chasing lights" with four colored lights that shift to the left or the right.
Text Item Display
This is the best blueprint in the book, and is the upper left of the image. It will display the amount of items in your logistics system by displaying the name of the item with the amount you have in logistics below (up to 999,999), and then switch between all items in the game every 5 seconds. Based upon DaveMcW's display ( https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=193&t=19825&start=60#p282391 ), I developed a 5x5 text display that supports 63 characters, allowing text, math and some punctuation to be displayed. I'm using that to display the name of the item and display the quantity below on a larger display (with pixels doubled). There are two version, one that just displays the quantities for about 5 seconds, and one that does an 'animation' counting up or down to the next value, but switches about every 8 seconds. If you want to connect it to a circuit network instead of logistics (or connect it to both at the same time, to get fluid levels in addition to logistics), remove the roboport (if you don't want it connected to logistics), and connect a red wire to the power pole just above where the roboport was). There are two filter inserters that are set to filter the item currently being displayed (so they show the item if you have alt pressed). There is a normal inserter point to a combinator on the lower right. Turning that combinator on will stop the item cycling of the display. You can use the 'Z' signal on that combinator to set the displayed item by setting it from 1 to 209 to choose the item to display.
Item Display Board
This is a large board made up on groups of 10 wide and 4 high lights, each column with a requester chest, as shown in the right of the image. Each column represents the amount of an item in your logistics (or circuit) network. Each row is a row on one of the four crafting tabs in the game, with the four big columns being each of the big crafting tabs. There are two versions of this board. One has lights for 5 (red), 50 (yellow), 500 (green), and 5000 (cyan) items, the other has lights for 10, 20, 30, and 40 stacks of items (this version I designed for reading the contents of a train, and therefore doesn't come connected to the logistics network, to connect it, just connect one of the red wires to a roboport).
Four and Five digit displays
There are 3 blueprints for four and five digit displays. These are intended to displaying the amount of a single item, or perhaps the level of fluid in a tank. The come with a requester chest, which you can remove. To use, remove the requester chest, but connect a red wire to the combinator that the chest was connected to, and change to input on that combinator to the item or fluid you want to display. One of the two five digit displays is designed to not display leading zeros in the number.
Multi-Item Display
This will display the amount of several items you have in logistics (and was a precursor to the text item displays above). Put several items that you want to display in the left most chest, and once they are all in there, power the inserter so they are put on the belt. Every few seconds one if the items will be put in the other chest, and the amount of that item in logistics will be displayed. The items are cycled through the chest every 10 seconds, and the display is updated.
Power Displays
There are a few different power displays. All of them come set up with an accumulator and just need to be connected to the power network you want to monitor. A colored digital display is shown in the lower left of the image.
Chase Lights
This is a system of blueprints to make a 'chasing light' display of almost any size, as shown in the left center of the image. There are several parts of the chase lights system, but it should be easy to connect together. First you need one of the two chase lights controllers. One is run with the circuit network, and has a combinator you can change to set that speed (adjust F to be the number of frames for a complete cycle of four moves (need to be a multiple of 4)). The other controller runs from 4 inserters, and the speed of the lights will slow down if you start to run out of power. Then place one of the two chase light controller connectors directly on top of the four medium power poles of the chase light controller. Which one you place will control if the lights move to the left or right. Finally you can extend the lights from that location using the 8 long, 16 long or corner light sections, making sure to always overlap the lights by 4 with a previous section (so that the wires hook up correctly). That is all there is to it.
Oil Display with alarm
This will display the levels of liquids involved with oil production, with an alarm if any fall below 3000. Left to right it is water, oil, heavy oil, light oil, petroleum gas, sulfuric acid and lubricant. You need to connect a red wire of the blueprint to your oil production tanks for each fluid. the lights are from 0 to 20k in 5k steps.
