Grid Aligned
All blueprints are aligned on a 32x32 chunks. Rails are separated by 4 tiles centered within the chunk. All chunks are positioned absolutely with the world, centering on 0,0. Every blueprint should click into place with the others!
Elevated Rail
My goal for junctions was to minimize rails crossing, at the cost of a larger foot print and cost.
Signals
I will admit that signals are still a black magic that I am learning. In my testing I have not run into any deadlocks which was my biggest concern. It may be possible to increase the throughput of the junctions with some more thoughtful signaling.
I designed around a 5 car long train (1 locomotive, 4 cargo wagons). I placed signals to try and create queuing areas for trains if there was a backup to avoid clogging a merge/split. If you run with longer trains the signals may not work as well. With long enough trains I think deadlocks may be possible.
Right Hand Drive
Trains drive on the right, signals are on the outside. qq
