Description
I felt a bit lazy last night so I decided to do moar mafs in order to see whether my AM power plant can be further optimized. It turns out that for a slightly higher cost (namely, more Matter Plants, Prod3 and Speed3 modules as well as some extra beacons - both normal and singularity) the 24 express belts of wood can supply 42.6 AM power plants, which means 42 plants for output and one plant for the internal supply.
Running the whole build at full speed draws just 1.1 GW, which is less than the 1.8 GW allowed for the internal reactor (3 GW * 0.6 reactors) in order to supply the remaining 42 plants at full load.
The basic math is: 1 full express belt of wood can supply 1.8 AM reactors. If you want to stick to the same width, 3 more belts can be added (with the included matter plants) in order to get to a max of 47 reactors. BE aware that this will require a speed + efficiency upgrade for the fuel cell charging Assembler.
Due to the circuitry separation (internal reactor is not connected to the "main power bus" at the top) I decided to take out the matter buffering and its associated logic (tank, pumps, decider combinators and power switch) in order to simplify the design. Not sure if it compensates for the additional fluid flow, but there are fewer items required. :-D
Starting up the behemoth takes just 70 MW if you disconnect the top belt of wood from the rest of the site. The key to that is the power pole between the top-left radar and the stone well below it.
The system uses Stone Water Wells in order to supply the copious amounts of water required by the greenhouses (450 water/s for each express belt of wood).
