A factory for all Belts, Underground Belts, and Splitters with Filtered Storage Chests + Easy Controls and Visual Indicators.
Easy Controls:
Set the controls at the top using the appropriate Decider Combinator for the number of Belts, Underground Belts, and Splitters that you want you store. By default, all splitters and underground belts are set to store 50 each, while belts are set to store 300.
Visual Indicators:
Each Decider Combinator has a Lamp to the left and right. Only one side of the combinator can be lit at once. The plain white lamp on the right means the factory is working to make the amount you set. The matching colored lamp to the left of the combinator means your filtered storage chest contains the amount set.
Filtered Storage Chests:
Because the chests are filtered storage chests any deconstructed belts, underground belts, and splitters will be put into the appropriate filtered storage chest. Only items of that type will be able to enter the filtered storage chest. Keeping the items in the filtered storage chests reduces material waste, as your items are not in random chests somewhere else and this belt factory isn't producing extras as well. For example, if you deconstruct part of your factory, any belts will go into this belt factory's filtered storage chests instead of other storage chests you have. No spots are blocked off in the filtered storage chest.
The alternative that most people use is a Provider chest with blocked off spots. This is not a good option because you don’t get the benefit of having deconstructed materials go back into that provider chest later on. You also need storage chests for any deconstruction as a result of blocking off the spaces in the provider chests.
Overall you should use filtered storage chests throughout your factory mall and avoid passive providers with blocked spaces.
