Description
Legendary mall: most useful items in legendary quality
This blueprint is a legendary item mall, designed to be placed on Vulcanus. Bring your legendary materials and get all your legendary items. Bring planet-specific legendary materials for even more items.
The last version compatible with Factorio 2.0, v3.7.1, is available here.
Features
- Does everything: just connect inputs and power and get legendary items.
- Generates a wide range of items: basic items (inserters, beacons, assembly machines), personal equipment items, space platform parts, power, and more.
- Ability to set priorities for the items in the mall: you can change priorities to shift resource distribution to the items you need more.
- Easy to start and upgrade: put the normal-quality version first, then paste the legendary version on top of it. The mall will upgrade itself to work faster and better.
- Uses a bus for ores and intermediate items, but uses bots for items that are needed only by a few production facilities, to keep everything cleaner.
- Besides the final products, the mall keeps some of the created intermediate legendary products in the logistics network for exporting.
- Products are inserted into buffer chests that have requests set, so it will arrange all items, including the legendary items you already have in your system.
- Includes a named logistics request group for easy adding to Cargo Landing Pad requests.
- Includes a lamp panel that shows which planet-specific inputs are missing.
- Includes an additional standalone blueprint, "04 - Trains", for producing Factorio 2.1 legendary cargo wagons, fluid wagons, locomotives, storage tanks, and artillery wagons. This will likely be integrated into the main mall in a future version.
How to use
- Place blueprint "01 - Normal (Starter)". Wait until everything is built.
- Paste blueprint "02 - Legendary Upgrade" directly on top of blueprint 01. Use Ctrl+Shift+Click while placing to force the paste and override existing entities, so the factory will upgrade itself with legendary items.
- Place blueprint "03 (Requester Groups)", then delete it immediately. This is only needed to register the named requester groups in your save.
- Optional: Place blueprint "04 - Trains" to produce the additional Factorio 2.1 legendary train-related items. For now, this is a standalone blueprint and is not part of the main mall.
- Connect inputs:
- Pay attention to each requirement, as not all inputs are legendary (coal, calcite, etc.). Both normal-quality and legendary-quality are needed as different inputs.
- The factory can run without all planet-specific inputs; it will use what it has.
- Connect to the power network. Peak power requirement is around 1.5 GW.
- Open your Cargo Landing Pad. Add a new logistics request group. Select the group "Legendary mall requests".
- Make sure you have enough cargo bays for all the items.
- Make sure your space platform ships the required items to Vulcanus.
- For Nauvis shipments: you only need to ship one of these options:
- Uranium Fuel Cells
- U-235 + U-238
- Open the relevant space platforms, and add the groups "->Vulcanus (Legendary mall requests)".
- Make sure you have a few hundreds of logistics bots in the network (exact number depends on quality and on bot upgrades).
- Optional:
- Change the priority settings to your preferences: use the constant combinator to set Normal/High priority beside each component. The display panel will show the currently selected priority.
- If you want a different amount of a specific item, change the limit on its inserter (no need to change anything in its buffer chest).
Notes
- No productivity 3 production: if you’ve got 500 legendary biter eggs (enough for one rocket), you’re better off using it on Nauvis.
- Even though this blueprint is meant to be used on Vulcanus, it does not create Vulcanus-local items, assuming you are already upcycling it (while we get Legendary Tungsten Carbide and Legendary Tungsten Plates).
- Why a second blueprint and not just upgrading everything to legendary when possible? The reason is that not all structures and modules should be legendary, even if possible. If normal assembly is enough to satisfy the need, we use it. That way we reduce the legendary cost of the mall itself.
- Editor Extension mod is needed only for testing. No problem using this blueprint without it.
- Uranium input: you can now ship Legendary U-235 and Legendary U-238 instead of Legendary Uranium Fuel Cells, and the mall will craft the fuel cells it needs internally.

Normal-Quality Inputs:
- Coal
- Calcite
- Holmium ore

- Legendary Spoilage
- Legendary U-235
- Legendary U-238
- Legendary Tungsten Plates
More about named requester chests
"Named requester groups" are saved bundles of logistic requests (item + amount) that you can reuse later. You define the list once, give it a name, then apply that same bundle to another requester UI in one click. In this blueprint, some requester chests exist only to store those named groups as templates. They’re not meant to be supplied; they’re just there so you can quickly add the group to your Cargo Landing Pad and the relevant Space Platforms without manually re-entering requests.
Updates
v3.8 (15/8/2026)
- Updated simple coal liquefaction for the Factorio 2.1 layout change.
- Changed Legendary Iron Plate transport from bots to belts. In Factorio 2.1, Legendary Iron Plates are more likely to be used as the input, while Legendary Iron Ore is still supported.
- Fixed Legendary Copper Cable storage so at least one rocket's worth is kept.
- Fixed Legendary Pipe storage so at least one rocket's worth is kept.
- Increased storage for most intermediate products.
- Improved the performance of the late-game version by upgrading more parts of the factory to legendary quality.
- Added a beacon to speed up Battery and Battery MK2 production.
- Portable Fusion Reactor production now requests Fission Reactors, allowing them to be shipped from Nauvis and routed to the correct production area.
- Fixed incorrect circuit logic in the starter version that could cause a deadlock.
- Fixed a recycler outputting onto the wrong lane in the starter version.
- Added an additional plastic requester to red circuit production when plastic storage is high.
- The LDS shuffle now stops when there is no need for Legendary Plastic Bars, Steel Plates, or Copper Plates.
- Added a storage chest for Legendary Refined Concrete.
- Added more Legendary Iron Plate requesters in several areas to improve iron distribution.
- Increased molten copper production in the legendary version.
- Added blueprint "04 - Trains", a standalone section that produces Factorio 2.1 legendary Cargo Wagons, Fluid Wagons, Locomotives, Storage Tanks, and Artillery Wagons. It is planned to become part of the main blueprint later.
18/3/2026
- Added a link to legendary Tungsten plates blueprint
v3.7.1 (17/2/2026)
- Replaced assembly machines with EM plants for Solar Panel and Accumulator production.
- Fixed missing wire on the Cargo Landing Pad output inserter.
v3.7 (6/2/2026)
- Storage of many items increased (especially basic items). Expect longer time until you have all kinds of legendaries, because basic items are prioritized and stored in larger amounts.
- Roboports production speed doubled.
- Beacons production speed doubled.
- Switched most produced-item outputs to filtered storage chests (instead of buffer chests).
- Uranium input improved: you can ship Legendary U-235 and Legendary U-238 instead of Legendary Uranium Fuel Cells; the mall crafts the cells it needs.
- Added a lamp panel to show which planet-specific inputs are missing.
