Description
Robot-based mall with layout organised in a similar way to the player inventory.
A familiar layout in a compact mall...
It's not exactly like the player inventory, but pretty close, considering pipes and fluids that get in the way. The intermediate products have some order, but again compacting the pipes was priority.
Everything is made from raw materials, however feel free to belt in anything you need more of, or expand the boosted production sections.
Contains the following sections:
- Organised Production (the main mall)
- Intermediate Production (modules+beacons fluids and intermediate products)
- Boosted Production (modules+beacons for intermediate and high-demand products)
- Smelting (modules+beacons for plates)
- Control Panel (connect top left substation to mall with red wire)
The main mall is build from assembly machine 2, with fast inserters for input and and standard inserters for output. This is intentional to make the build easy in early game, so you may want to upgrade some machines. The additional sections are fully beaconed and have productivity modules where available, otherwise speed modules.
Assembly machines in the main mall output to yellow storage chests, which are filtered with the item. The output is limited by the circuit network, and player controlled by constant combinators.
A circuit network monitors the demand (what we need to make) on red wire and supply (what we have in storage) on green wire. The demand is supply+(requests*-1), or supply-requests. Output inserters are connected to the red wire, and set to enable when demand < 0 (noting that demand is a negative).
The input inserters will only insert if there is enough upstream ingredients. For example, yellow belts will not be inserted to make red belts unless there is enough supply of yellow belts. This is also achieved with the red wire, the input inserter is set to enabled when demand >=0 for the upstream item (again, noting that a positive demand means we have enough of upsteam the item).
Hover the power lines to see what's in stock (supply, green) and what the factory should create (demand, red). The control panel shows an indicator for each item in the main mall section, organised in the same format. It shows green light when demand>=0 (noting demand is the negative of the amount required), otherwise shows the red light.
Robots will feed into the system as needed. Uses about 200-500 logistics robots, and about 150-200MW power if you have one of each module, and 2 smelting modules.
TIPS
- Turn on this setting in game - Settings > Interface > Alt-mode > Show combinator settings in "Alt-mode"
