Description
--ONLY THE MOST RECENT BRAIN VERSION WORKS!--
Just provide your logistic network with all the resources and you wont have to worry about power again (Although i would have a backup reactor on hand as too much energy consumption at night may result in blackouts).
Plate text within blueprint tells you what each input does, and a blue lamp indicates an input.
btw in the book, there's another book premade that will go into the mechanism, but this website calls it an empty slot for some reason.
START INSTRUCTIONS
place the 1x1 brain. after the entire brain is 100% built, determine how far you want your first solar field to be (by default i go out 1 solar field length). This value is determined by how many times you run any 1 item through the left inserter. Then find the 1x1 book, and put it in the left deployer. Take the deconstruction planner next to the book and put that in the other deployer. Then go to the top input. Decide how often you would like this to have a cooldown for (if you choose too small a time there wont be enough time for the bots to build the field and will instead build way to many fields). Lastly make your way over to the accumulator. Set the 'P' in "Power" to whatever percentage of power left in your base that would trigger the building of a field. By default it's set to 40. That's all the setup you need if you use my provided solar blueprints. By the way this will build in a square towards the top right, but that can be changed if needed. Final Step, copy and paste the combinator (says ON in 'alt' mode)
If you would like to customize the solar field:
Its very simple and easy. First off find the length and width of your field (keep in mind 50x50 is virtually the max for a 1x1 due to roboport reach), input that into both of the bottom combinators (its the one with W and H and then X and Y). You are going to put that number in for the 2 arithmetic combinators marked as inputs as well. Then replace my solar design with yours in the nested book(s) Then follow the normal start instructions
To change which direction you want to build in
For all of the following you have to change the bottom 4 inputs
To build left, X must be negative. Right: X is positive
To build up, Y must be negative (weird right?). Down: Y is positive
The Eventual End Game
After you reach a point doing 1 field at a time does nothing, so upgrade to doing 9 at once. Place the 3x3 preset over the 1x1. Change the blueprint in the deployer. Then take the values for X, Y, and M. Divide by 3. Remember or write down those numbers (round down). Reset the memory banks (mine and then ctrl-z). Then use the inserters like in the start instructions to get to those numbers.
