Description
Designed right after the first nuclear reactor that I posted here. Sadly forgot to include this dual one.
Unlike the single smart reactor that relies on switches to prevent any overflow and passively accommodate laser turrets via extra engines. Well, this one does exactly the same thing, with a minor difference to the circuits. The single reactor has a single control layer: inserting fuel and the dumping of used up fuel. This dual reactor needed an extra layer of control because we are now dealing with more than one reactor. That said, this control circuit supports multi reactor setup now so it can be used for quad reactors and so on so forth. Just need to add the inner layer of circuit to each reactor and hook them up to the outer layer.
In simple terms: the inner layer circuit exists for each reactor and passes data to the outer layer that makes ultimate decisions.
I couldn't decide about the lights so I left them all in the centre.
From inner to the outer light meaning and the steam meter...
- inner (closest to the reactors)
- green: the whole system is online and wants to produce energy)
- blue: whole system sleeping, no new fuel will be inserted
- centre, left or right reactor (tells if there is fuel inside the reactor regardless of the whole system state, if you put in fuel manually, no it wont know. put in the box instead. This is tracked for each reactor separately left and right)
- green: there is fuel inside the reactor
- blue: no fuel inside the reactor of what ever side the light is on
- outer, farthest from reactor left or right respectfully
- green: there is a fuel cell primed for insertion inside the box for this reactor
- yellow: there is no fuel primed for insertion inside the box of the reactor
The steam meter is cyan when idling and purple when reactors are powered intentionally.
there is an alarm that will go off when the belt has less than 14 fuel on it. Because if set to 16, it will sound every time the inserter grabs 1 fuel.
!!!!For delivery by bots: replace the belt with a requester chest, do not remove the steel chest!!!!
Remove the steam engines past the steam tanks if you are not interested in overhead power production to accommodate power spikes from laser turrets.
