Because I use a lot of uncommon or higher solar panels, especially on planets where space is limited or on space platforms, I thought I'd share my factory that makes common, uncommon, rare, and epic solar panels.
Feed this Copper plates, Steel plates, and Electronic circuits (green circuits) at the bottom.
The factory will sacrifice 1/2 of what is produced of each type (except for epic) in the hope of generating higher quality components.
If you don't have epic quality researched yet, you can just remove that section, or ignore it until you do.
If you dont have Quality module 3, you can use 2 or even 1, the yield will just be lower.
