This is a standard 8-8 balancer, with its elements rearranged to fit the most common bus system that has its belts grouped in group sizes of four and a gap of two tiles inbetween (hence the abbreviation 88G2).
As it behaves like a standard 8-8 balancer, the items from each of the input belts are evenly distributed to each of the eight output belts and it has no loss of throughput. The space between the two groups of belts has been used for the balancers elements, so it is shorter than the standard version.
Trying to make it as tightly packed as possible, it resulted in a design, that is one tile shorter in one belt group than in the other. I know, uniform designs are the most popular ones, but after I weighed uniformity against most tight packaging, I went with the latter one. This one tile extra space might be crucial to players who try to pack as tightly as possible themselfs. Thus the blueprints include two mirrored designs for each belt color. I am sorry for this inconvenience.
The blueprints also include a test setup which uses mods Creative Items and Miniloader, in case you want to test it or fiddle arround with it yourself.
