Goal
I wanted to build a nicley structured minimalistic base that produces 45 science packs per minute from raw resources without using the robots. The resulting blueprint fits 2 merged city blocks used by Nilaus in his great videos.
Result:
- Minimalistic. It's only 200x100 tiles.
- Well structured.
- There are 2 mini buses to avoid belt spagetti as much as possible.
- Every block makes specific production (see the screenshots).
- Supplied by 6 tiny train stations. Uses two-headed trains with 1 wagon.
- Raw resources only. You just need to provide:
- Iron ore (2 trains)
- Copper ore (2 trains)
- Stone (1 train)
- Coal (1 train)
- Oil (1 train)
- Water (1 train)
- Produces exactly 45 science packs per minute (but slightly more prerequesties)
- 100% logistic network coverage (however the bots are not used)
- Resource supply indicator to monitor incoming resources
- The book contains every single factory component, so you can build mini base of your own design
How to build and start production
Almost all the items needed for the base building are easy to make at late game. The most expensive are the modules. You need over 1000 of speed and more than 250 of production modules. So make sure you have them or the factory will not work.
Check how far the resources the base needs are. It should take less than a minute for a train to go to grab a material, (loading a single wagon is very-very fast) and return back. If it takes longer, you just need more trains. The unloading stations can handle 3 trains at maximum.
Ensure you have enough power. The base consumes a lot of energy (450-600 MW) because of many beacons (price of minimalism).
Put the main blueprint on the ground and let the robots do their job. Meanwhile you can build your railway to supply the base when it's ready. The trains, provided by the blueprint are scheduled up to go to the stations named:
- Iron - Load
- Copper - Load
- Stone - Load
- Coal - Load
- Oil - Load
