Description
Introduction
• This book contains a blueprint of Belt-Based Smart Mall for Nauvis, in two versions (1X and 6X independent assemblers), requiring only red and green science techs to be built and used. It accepts fluids (water, lubricant ans sulfuric acid) and can be easily used with main bus system.
• Footprint: 43 x 40 tiles.
• Feel free to give suggestions and report bugs.
• My Reddit page (I answer faster there).
• Last game version tested: 2.0.60 (stable).
How to use it
• It is possible to build the full blueprint in less than 5 minutes by hand. After building the blueprint, open the display panels to see detailed instructions.
• You must connect the input items via belts (only one type of item per belt).
- Some items are essential, as they cannot be crafted or smelted by the assemblers: iron plates, copper plates, stone, coal, stone brick, steel plate, iron ore, plastic bar, explosives and battery.
- Some intermediate items can be connected to the belts too: iron gear wheel, electronic circuit, engine unit, advanced circuit, concrete, processing unit, low density structure and electric engine unit. They are optional, but it's recommended to do so to speed up the production rate. Iron ore is not needed if you provide concrete by belts. Sulfuric acid is not needed if you provide processing unit by belts.
- Once an optional item is provided by belts, it will stop being crafted by the assemblers.
• You can ignore beacons, modules and roboports if you haven't researched it yet.
Items that can be crafted
• This mall can craft most ot the items unlocked by the first 7 science packs that can be crafted on Nauvis.
• It won't craft:
- Items that use wood or uranium as ingredient.
- Landfill, because it is more efficient to automate elsewhere.
- Nuclear reactor, rocket silo and power armor MK2, due to their high volume of ingredients.
- Weapons such as submachine gun, shotgun etc.
How does it work
• Circuit on belts will release items to the sushi belts that are missing in the input buffer chests of the assemblers (the bottom ones).
• Assemblers will try to craft desired items (configured by the user) missing based on available items in the input buffer chests and intermediate buffer chests (the top ones). This functionality was achieved using Recipe Decider blueprint explained in the post Recipe combinator and recipe decider implemented in vanilla, posted by u/Possible_Screen7538 on Reddit.
• Intermediate items (items that are ingredient of other items, such as Inserter, Assembling machine 1 and Steel chest) crafting are controled by SR latch.
• Some intermediate items are prioritized in order to avoid unnecessary recipe switching.
• Items that are not researched yet will be ignored until it is researched.
• Each fluid is released periodically using a clock.
• Final products are delivered to a centralized storage.
• Power outage or a low-power situation doesn't seem to break the system, at least if they affect the whole blueprint.
Blueprints
• Belt-Based Smart Mall for Nauvis - 6X Version: Full mall with 6 independent assemblers. It can be built over the 1X version.
• Belt-Based Smart Mall for Nauvis - 1X Version: Basic mall with only one assembler. It can be upgraded to 6X version.
• Patch for maps without Space Age: Patch for poor players who don't have Space Age expansion. They must apply this blueprint over the constant combinators, otherwise the mall won't work as intended.
• Editor inputs for testing: intended to be used with editor mode for testing purposes. Provides all the acceptable inputs.
Changelog
• Version 1.1 : Fixed the behavior of the inserters that remove items into the intermediate chests. It now uses a whitelist filter instead of a blacklist, as it was previously removing items before receiving the correct signal.
• Version 1.0 : First version.
