The Problem: When it comes time to process oil and get Advanced Circuits going, I want to bring out my full red belt production blueprints and get going on plastic and sulfur etc. But I can’t use those blueprints because they rely on advanced oil processing tech. I can’t research that tech without processing oil first.
Basic oil processing is extremely inefficient but a necessary step in the technology tree. Making a dedicated factory for regular oil processing is inefficient and uses almost double the oil to make the same product. I don’t want to be stuck with a basic oil processing facility that is totally built out, making it more difficult and time consuming to switch to advanced oil processing. It hurts resources and game flow to stay with a basic oil processing setup. It takes oil processing to make Sulfur and Plastic for Advanced Circuits and Chemical Science in order to research Advanced Oil Processing.
Solution and Goal: Research Advanced Oil Processing (75x Red, Green, and Blue Science) in order to build an advanced-oil based Plastic Bar and Sulfur factory as soon as possible.

These Engines, Electronic Circuits, Copper Wire, and Coal must be hand fed into wooden chests one time.
The wooden chests are marked by constant combinators which display the number of items needed when clicked. The wooden chests have blocked spaces to help indicate how many materials are required. For example in the faster version, the wooden chests feeding the Advanced Circuit Assemblers have 3 spots open, and the combinators show 2 copper wire icons and 1 electronic circuit icon for those 3 slots. Engine chests have one slot open, and the Coal chest has 5 chest slots open.
Lamps and a Speaker are hooked up to the final Chemical Science wooden chest, lighting up and alerting you that there are at least 75 chemical science packs ready. The speaker is set to half volume.
The simplified version takes 21 minutes to complete 75 packs, while the faster version takes only 12 minutes. You can use this time to setup your advanced oil factories in advance. So, depending how much time you need you can use the simplified version to save resources.
