Modular Rail Network based on designs by Artentus on Reddit, Imgur and this site: 1st gen and 2nd gen.
Original description:
I don't like using FARL to lay down my rail networks so I came up with a system that allows for fully automated construction using bots. The system is based on chunks with the size of 28 by 28 tiles, marked by the hazard concrete in the top image. A single segment can span one or more of these chunks and can have connections to other segments on some or all chunk borders it spans.
I made a number of improvements:
- Added "snap to grid" using an absolute grid position and a grid size of 28x28. This means you can start building anywhere on the map, and the sections will line up perfectly when they come together.
- Extended the junctions so that they line up with the grid, without needing to be combined with extra straight segments or manual building.
- Added icons to each blueprint.
- Combined them all into a single book.
